Important Media Information for Councillor Nominees
• ‘The Local Paper‘ produces free localised newspapers for the people of all suburbs of Melbourne, the Mornington Peninsula, and selected peri-urban areas. ‘The Local Paper‘ has fresh weekly issues online, and fresh fortnightly issues in print. • ‘The Local Paper‘ offers publicity opportunities for all Councillor nominees. There will editorial coverage (free) of the elections, prepared by the newspaper group’s newsroom staff. There is scope to submit Letters to the Editor, up to 200 words (free). And there are economical advertising opportunities (paid) – details below.

Meet The Candidates Feature
• ‘The Local Paper’ will be publishing a ‘Meet The Candidates’ section in our print and online issues next week (Wednesday, October 2, 2024). This is an opportunity for candidates to have a paid full-colour editorial-style quarter-page spot about themselves with photo, 200-word statement, and fact box. This feature is being p;ublished several days prior to the VEC sending out ballot papers. Discounted cost is $250, including GST, pre-paid by Card or EFT at time of booking. The feature will be repeated without additional charge in our October 9 issue.

• You will have to be quick to secure your spot in the October 2 feature. Deadline for booking, content and payment is 4pm this Thursday, September 26.
