WEST: Altona North man in Court over burglaries


Wyndham Crime Investigation Unit detectives have charged a man following an investigation into several commercial burglaries in the north-west region, which occurred between August 11 and September 18.
Police will allege the man committed burglaries at several different locations including;
• Barber St in Hoppers Crossing on August 11
• Somerville Rd in Kingsville on August 28
• Tom Roberts Parade in Point Cook on September 1
• Mt Derrimut Rd in Derrimut on September 1
• Keilor Rd in Essendon North on September 3
• The Avenue in Sunshine West on September 6
• Commercial Rd in Footscray on September 7
• Military Rd in Avondale Heights on September 10
• Railway Ave in Laverton on September 14
• Ballarat Rd in Deer Park on September 18
Investigators arrested a 36-year-old Altona North man on October 1 and conducted a search warrant on a premises in Altona North.
Officers seized evidence including a stolen vehicle and other various items of stolen property.
It is alleged the estimated value of property damage and stolen items to exceed $80,000.
Police have laid 44 charges against the Altona North man including 18 counts of burglary, theft-of-motor vehicle, criminal damage and theft.
He was remanded to appear at Sunshine Magistrates’ Court on October 7.
