BRIMBANK: Factory fire at Keilor Park

Fire Rescue Victoria responded to a factory fire in Thomsons Rd at Keilor Park shortly before 1am on Monday, September 30.
FRV crews arrived to find a 10 x 15 metre tilt slab factory in an industrial business park fully ablaze, and immediately called for additional resources.
Firefighters entered the burning building with hoselines, and, assisted by an aerial firefighting appliance, began to extinguish the fire whilst also protecting adjoining buildings.
No people were inside the factory at the time of the fire.
The fire was declared under control at 1.42am, 44 minutes after FRV arrived on scene.
The factory sustained significant damage in the fire.
Through their hard work, FRV crews were able to stop the fire from spreading to adjoining businesses.
FRV crews remained on scene throughout the night fully extinguishing the fire and monitoring hot spots.
The cause of the fire is yet to be determined but will be investigated.
Victoria Police and Ambulance Victoria attended in support of FRV operations.
