STONNINGTON: Police want witnesses to Malvern incident


Prahran Highway Patrol are appealing for witnesses following a critical injury collision in Malvern on Sunday morning (Jan. 19)

The collision occurred on Tooronga Rd, between Viva and Young Sts, just after 9.30am.

It is believed the driver of a Ford Fiesta was attempting an illegal U-turn when they collided with an Audi, travelling north on Tooronga Rd.

The 84-year-old driver of the Ford was trapped in the damaged car and had to be cut from the vehicle.

She was transported to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

The 44-year-old male driver of the Audi, who is currently disqualified from holding a licence – was taken to hospital to be checked over.

Officers are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the collision or motorists in the area at the time with dashcam in their vehicles to come forward.

The investigation remains ongoing.
