STATEWIDE: Cool change after 42.3°, fire threatens Dimboola
A cool change hit Melbourne on Monday night (Jan. 27) following a day where the top temperatre reached 42.3° (108°F) at Point Cook, near Werribee.
A top temperature of 21° is expected in Melbourne on Tuesday (Jan. 28).
Monday was day of Total Fire Ban, but blazes hit the Little Desert region in the west of the state.
At 6,46pm Monday, an mergency Warning to Evacuate Immediately was issued for Dimboola, Pimpinio, Wail.
“There is a bushfire in the Little Desert National Park that is not yet under control,” said a Vic Emergency representative.
“The fire is travelling in an easterly direction towards Dimboola and is expected to impact Dimboola at 7:30pm.
“This is an active and dynamic fire that is spreading rapidly. This fire creating a large amount of smoke that can be seen and smelt over a long distance.”
