STONNINGTON: Libs claim Prahran
Rachael Westaway has claimed victory for the Liberal Party in last Saturday’s by-election for the State seat of Prahran.
As vote counting resumed on Monday (Local Paper press-time), the Victorian Electoral Commission had counted the votes of 64.29 per cent of the enrolled electorate.
There werte 29,884 formal votes of the total enmrolment of 48,164. Ms Westaway had secured 15,406 (51.6 per cent) on a two candidate preferred basis, ahead of the Australian Greens candidate Angelica Di Camillo on 14,452 votes (48.4 per cent).
Primary first preferences votes were:
• Nathan Chisholm, 1585 (5.30 per cent)
• Rachael Westaway, Liberal, 10,829 (36.24 per cent)
• Janine Hendry, 471 (1.58 per cent)
• Genevieve Gilbert, Family First Victoria, 318 votes (1.06 per cent),
• Alan Menadue, 120 (0.40 per cent),
• Tony Lupton, 3835 (12.83 per cent),
• Mark Dessau, Libertarian Party, 276 (0.92 per cent),
• Angelica Di Camillo, Australian Greens, 10,813 (36.18 per cent),
• Dennis Bilic, Sustainable Australia Party, 394 (1.32 per cent)
• Buzz Billman, 428 (1.43 per cent),
• Faith Fuhrer, Animal Justice Party, 815 (2.73 per cent)
