DAREBIN: Boy, 15, with stolen car


Police, including officers from Operation Trinity, have charged a boy allegedly in possession of a stolen vehicle in Preston early hours of Friday mnorningt (Feb. 14).

Officers caught sight of an allegedly stolen black Mazda CX3 near the intersection of Murray and St Georges roads about 12.45am.

It’s alleged that the vehicle turned right into High St and hit a gutter, rendering the car immobile.

Three males allegedly took off on foot, dumping the Mazda.

The alleged driver of the vehicle, a 15-year-old boy, was arrested a short distance away.

Despite a thorough search of the area, police were unable to locate the remaining two males.

The boy was charged with theft of a motor vehicle.

He was bailed to appear before a children’s court at a later date.
