BRIMBANK: Teen charged after 2023 hit-run
UPDATE
Detectives from the Homicide Squad have harged an 18-year-old man following the death of a teenage boy who was struck by a car in Taylors Lakes in November 2023.
The 18-year-old was arrested at his Sydenham home about 6am Thursday (Feb. 27)
He has since been charged with murder, two counts of reckless conduct endanger life and two counts of intentionally cause injury.
He will appear at a children’s court at a later date.
EARLIER
The activity follows an incident where a group of teens were crossing Chichester Drive when it is alleged they were deliberately struck by a vehicle about 6.55pm on Monday, November, 2023.
Three youths were struck by the previously stolen vehicle, which then fled the scene.
Despite the best efforts of emergency services, a 16-year-old Keilor Downs boy died at the scene.
Two other boys, a 16-year-old from Melton and 15-year-old from Keilor Downs, were taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Police allege the incident was targeted and that the parties involved were known to each other.
The investigation remains ongoing.
