HUME: 26 firefighters at Meadow Heights
Fire Rescue Victoria crews responded to incident in Bicentennial Crescenet, Meadow Heights at 7.05pm Monday (Mar. 17) after multiple calls to Triple Zero (000) reporting a house fire.
Firefighters arrived on scene within six minutes to find the roof line of a single storey brick veneer structure heavily involved by fire.
An escalated response was initiated with crews, wearing breathing apparatus, entering the home and conducting firefighting operations to isolate the fire from spreading through the residence.
All occupants had evacuated safely with nil injuries.
The incident was deemed ‘Under Control’ at 7.32pm.
A Building Surveyor from the City of Hume was to attend to assess the structural integrity of the home.
The residents were placed in temporary accommodation.
The cause has been identified as an electrical fault.
Victoria Police and Ambulance Victoria attended in support of FRV operations.
A total of nine appliances and 26 firefighters were committed to the firefight.
