KINGSTON: Police impersonated at Clayton South
Moorabbin Crime Investigation detectives have charged three people as part of an ongoing investigation into an aggravated burglary in Clayton South.
It is alleged that two men attended an address on Bevan Avenue about 11.30pm on March 14.
The pair allegedly posed as police officers and when quizzed by an occupant at the property, one of the men produced a handgun and assaulted the victim.
Investigators allege that the second man was also in possession of a firearm and assaulted the victim.
Police arrested a 29-year-old Tarneit man, alleged to be one of the men involved, at an address on Warde St in Footscray on March 28.
It is alleged that police recovered a handgun and a quantity of methyl-amphetamine at the property.
As part of the ongoing investigation detectives executed a search warrant at a Dow St property in Port Melbourne in the days following.
Officers allegedly seized a commercial quantity of methyl-amphetamine from the address in addition to arresting a 35-year-old Port Melbourne woman.
Police arrested a 23-year-old Prahan man, alleged to be involved in the Clayton South burglary, at an address on Bay St in Port Melbourne on Tuesday (Apr. 8).
The 29-year-old Tarneit man has been charged with over 35 offences including two counts of aggravated burglary with a firearm, impersonate police, assault and drug related offences
He is remanded to appear before Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on June 23.
The 24-year-old Prahran man was charged with aggravated burglary with a firearm, impersonate police, assault and drug related offences.
He is remanded to appear before Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on July 1.
The 35-year-old Port Melbourne woman was charged with burglary and possess drug of dependence.
She was bailed to appear before Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on June 6.
