BOROONDARA: Criminal damage at Kew
Boroondara Crime Investigation Unit detectives are investigating after more than 30 cars were damaged in Kew on ANZAC Day (Fri., Apr. 25).
It is understood a man drove a yet to be identified older model sedan, with only one working headlight and a covered rear window, to Kew about 5.30am.
The man stopped the car in Wishart St, Hunter St, Lady Locks Drive, Goldthorns Avenue, Campbell St, John S t and Rowland St.
Investigators were told the man exited the car at each location and scratched several cars with a sharp object. The windows of some vehicles were also damaged.
At this stage the damage is estimated to be in excess of $100,000.
Detectives have released CCTV footage of a man they believe may be able to assist with enquires and a vehicle of interest.
