WYNDHAM: Roads upgrade at Werribee
Werribee MLA John Lister says that Werribee is getting a massive upgrade to its road network with a raft of infrastructure projects underway.
“Whether it is the Ison Rd project’s new overpass and extension, the Ballan R\d intersection project, Wyndham ring road or the main road interchange, these upgrades will be transformative and will make a huge difference to how locals in my community get around,” Mr Lister said.
“Werribee’s west has seen an increase in traffic, and we are seeing commuters looking to exit the Princes Fwy at Werribee Main Rd, leading to a traffic build-up on the freeway wanting to exit in the emergency lane – not an ideal situation, to say the least, and something that I have seen firsthand.
“Following advocacy by me and the federal member for Lalor, we celebrated the announcement of the main road interchange upgrade, jointly funded by the Federal and State Labor Governments.
“There have been discussions about a need for a temporary solution at the off-ramp to help ease this tailback while the broader works get underway.
“Minister, what steps are being taken to implement this temporary solution at the off-ramp?” Mr Lister asked.
