GREATER DANDENONG: New lights for Stud Rd
New traffic lights and safer pedestrian crossings are installed at he intersection of Stud Rd and Mcfees Rd in Dandenong North.
Government representatives say it will be afer to travel to and from the Dandenong Stadium, the Dandenong Creek Trail and public transport. A new footpath will be constructed from the intersection to the Dandenong Stadium to improve safety for those heading to play basketball and volleyball.
The right turning lane from Stud Rd into Mcfees Rd will be extended, and direct access between Mcfees Rd and the two Stud Rd service roads will be closed to minimise the risk of accidents at the intersection.
The two bus stops on the eastern side of Stud Rd will be combined and moved closer to the Mcfees Rd intersection.
Melissa Horne, Minister for Roads and Road Safety (pictured), said: “We know just how important the intersection of Stud Rd and Mcfees Rd is for the local community of Dandenong North, which is why we’re implementing these safety upgrades.”
Bruce MHR Julian Hill said: “No matter where you’re going, whether you’re heading to school, to work or to play sport – you deserve a safe journey, and that is what these upgrades will provide to the local community.”
