WHITTLESEA: Key dates for Lalor by-election


Key dates for the Lalor Ward by-elkection in the City of Whittlesea have been released by the Victorian Electoral Commission.
Stevan Kozmevski was unseated due to a Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal decision that voided the 2024 election results for the Lalor Ward due to interference. No blame for the interference was pointed at Mr Kozmevski.
Voting in the by-election will be by post. Voters have until Monday, July 14 to enrol.
An online candidates information session will be held at 6pm on Wednesday, June 11.
Nominations will open on Monday, June 16.
Nominations and lodgement of asll candidate products closes at 12 Noon on Tuesday, June 24.
The ballot pack mail-out by the Victorian Electoral Commission is due to commence on Monday, july 14.
Voting closes at 6pm on Friday, August 1.
All management of the by-election is by the Victorian Electoral Commission, not the City of Whittlesea.
Voters may apply to have their ballot paper redirected if they will be away when ballot papers are mailed, or if their mailing address has changed since the close of the roll on Wednesday, May 21.
Large print or braille ballot papers will be available.
Those who do not vote may get a fine.
