WEST: 4 arrested after evading Police
Police have arrested four youths after an allegedly stolen vehicle evaded police in Melbourne’s west on Friday morning (June 20).
Members from the Canine Unit first sighted the silver Honda Accord on Thomas Carr Rd, Tarneit, at about 11.55 pm on Thursday (June 19).
Officers attempted to intercept the Honda, but it fled on Geelong Rd, Brooklyn.
Air Wing observed the Honda allegedly driving at speed in Somerville Rd, Yarraville.
It is alleged the Honda pulled in behind the rear of a fast-food restaurant on Ballarat Rd, Footscray, where it appears one of the occupants exited the vehicle.
The Honda then travelled city bound along Ballarat Rd, Droop St and various other streets in Footscray.
The vehicle was then observed travelling east bound through Footscray, eventually turning around and heading back towards Tarneit.
Police successfully deployed stop sticks on Derrimut Rd, Werribee, where the vehicle came to a stop and all four occupants fled on foot.
Two girls and two boys were arrested nearby and were expected to be interviewed.
The Honda was stolen from a residential address on June 4 from Toorak Avenue, Croydon, about 1pm.
