BANYULE: Leo’s Heidelberg supermarket to close

Leo’s Supermarkets in Heidelberg and Kew are to close late next year.
Business tycoon James Parker is said to be one of the investors interested in developing the Heidelberg site, which has already been sold.
Leo Blake and wife Rose have operated Le Max Group which bought the property in 2000 for $232,870.
The Scintilla restaurant is also on the site, and The Age newspaper reports that its future is “uncertain”.
The Heidelberg site is reported to be likely worth more than $30 million.
Leo’s staff were informed last week of the developments.
