MORNINGTON PENINSULA: Survey on Hastings ramp car park
Hastings boat ramp has become the second busiest in Victoria, but the current car park has limited capacity and congestion issues.
To address this, Mornington Peninsula Shire Council is working on a new concept design for the car park.
“We’re aiming to improve safety, traffic flow, parking and access for boat ramp users and the wider community,” said a Council representative.
The new proposed design includes changes to parking layouts, while retaining vegetation, green space, and connections to the Western Port Bay Trail.
“If you’re a local resident, boat ramp user, Pelican Park Recreation Centre user or casual visitor, we’d love to get your feedback A surevey is being conducted at the Shire’s ‘Shape Out Future’ webpage. it is open until August 6.
Mayor, Cr Anthony Marsh, said: “As the second busiest boat ramp in the state, addressing the current access and congestion issues is of utmost importance. I encourage all users of the car park to provide your feedback to help us deliver the best outcome for the whole community.”
Cr Michael Stephens, Warringine Ward, said: “This is an important and busy asset for our local community and the many visitors the Hastings boat ramp attracts. The more feedback we receive, the better placed we’ll be to make a an informed decision.”
