WHITTLESEA: Underworld killing at Wollert

Athan Boursions, 21, son of a retired Police officer, was shot dead in an underworld killing outside his Champions Pde family home in Wollert on Thursday (July 31).
Mr Boursinos was gunned down as he was about to drive his BMW to appear at Heidel-berg Magistrates’ Court to appear on charges relating to drugs, weapons, theft and driving.
Mr Boursinos is understood to have been affiliated with a crime gang linked to Melbourne’s tobacco store wars.
Local witnesses say that Mr Boursinos was ambushed by the gunman in the street about 9am Thursday.
Mr Boursinos urged the killer to shoot him during a verbal argument before he was peppered with bullets, according to Herald Sun reporter Regan Hodge.
“[He] toyed with the gunman and told him to “do it” before he was shot dead in a laneway.”
Mr Boursinos’s grieving guirlfriend took to social media to pay tribute to “the best soul” and “angel”, through a series of photographs and videos shared on her Instagram pages.
“I will never stop loving you. You showed me what love was. I love you so much. I will see you soon. You’re the best person I have ever met with the best soul. I can’t wait to see and hold you again.
“ I’m sorry if I ever hurt you. I’m nothing without you. I love you my angel. This was our wedding song [Young and Beautiful]. I miss you.”
