WHITTLESEA: 210-kmh at Bundoora
A solo rider picked up travelling more than 200-km h has been arrested and had his solo impounded in Thornbury.
The rider was first spotted by the Air Wing on the M80 Ring Road in Bundoora travelling 210-kmh in a 100-kmh zone about 1.30am on Monday, August 4.
Mill Park members who were nearby tried to intercept the rider as he passed them on Grimshaw St before he sped off.
The Air Wing followed the rider, who was also seen running a red light, as he travelled from Plenty Rd to High St and into St Georges Rd.
Police moved in and arrested the rider, when he pulled over the motorcycle bearing stolen plates, in Harold St, Thornbury.
The 46-year-old man was interviewed by police in relation to exceeding the speed limit, the stolen plates and conduct endangering persons. He is expected to be charged on summons.
The 2022 Yamaha solo was impounded for 30 days at a cost of $928.
