HUME: Concern at anti-immigration march
Hume Council said it was deeply concerned by the anti-immigration protests planned for Sunday, August 31.
“Council unequivocally rejects all forms of hate speech, racism, and discrimination and stands firm in its commitment to fostering a safe, inclusive, and respectful community for all,” a Council statement said.
“As one of Australia’s most culturally and linguistically diverse municipalities, Hume is home to people from more than 160 countries, speaking over 100 languages. Our diversity is our strength, and Council remains committed to building bridges across communities, not walls.”
