KNOX: ‘Crime crisis’ in Rowville

Rowville MLA Kim Wells (pictured) says there is a “crime crisis’ in the region.
“When will the Minister and the State Labor Government fix the current crime crisis, particularly the brazen youth crime spree exploding right across our televisions and smartphones each day, leaving many of my
Rowville electorate constituents living in fear and believing that they will become the next victims?” Mr Wells asked.
“Local residents are contacting my office on a daily basis to express their deep concerns about living in fear of the current spate of terrifying crimes, which are occurring daily across Melbourne suburbs, including machete attacks, violent home invasions and carjacking.
“One recent constituent advised me that they and their partner had been forced to move home to a more secure, gated community in the Rowville electorate since crime had become out of control so badly where they had previously lived that they no longer felt safe and feared becoming the next victims of the crime crisis,” Mr Wells said.
