PORT PHILLIP: Minister should work with City

Southern Metropolitan MLC Georgie Crozier (pictured) says Local Government Minisetr Nick Staikos should work with the City of Port Phillip to address local crime.
“The increase in the crime and the level of this crime is out of control,” Ms Crozier said. “I am asking the Minister for Local Government that the local government work with the state government to have improved lighting in Church and Dow Sts.”
She said: “The state is in a terrible state when the crime wave that we are experiencing is occurring day after day and with the horrific scenes we are seeing today.
“I have got a constituent who has been raising this with their local member in Albert Park over the past 24 months. He and fellow residents have repeatedly raised issues with the local member and the government, highlighting the anti-social behaviour that is occurring in their area.”
