WYNDHAM: Stolen car stalls
A man has been arrested following a short foot pursuit in Werribee on Friday morning (Feb. 20) after a stolen car stalled.
The man first came to police attention following multiple calls to Triple Zero (000) about an erratic driver on Ballan Rd about 8.30am.
The 2012 Nissan Navara, bearing stolen plates, was reportedly driving on the wrong side of the road and on footpaths, narrowly missing pedestrians.
Local police found the car, which was believed to have stalled, in the middle of Synnot St.
The driver tried to restart the vehicle and fled on foot before he was arrested in a chemist nearby.
The 21-year-old from Manor Lakes was transported to hospital under police guard.
Once released he was to be interviewed by police.
Investigators are appealing for witnesses or motorists with dashcam who may have passed the vehicle, to come forward.
