OBSERVER: The 60 Four
The 60 Four will bring the biggest hits of the ’60s and ’70s to life in a Vegas-style show in Morning Melodies at Hamer Hall, Arts Centre Melbourne on Monday April 27 at 11am and 1.30pm.
Backed by a ‘powerhouse’ live band, The 60 Four jump between evocative ballads and high-energy classics — from the groove of Who Loves You and the harmonies of California Girls, to the anthem I’m a Believer and the timeless Can’t Buy Me Love. Disco energy will surge with Stayin’ Alive, while soul takes centre stage with Signed, Sealed, Delivered, I’m Yours and the Aussie rock classic Shout. And of course, no celebration of the era would be complete without December, 1963 (Oh, What a Night).
Featuring the sounds of The Beatles, Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons, The Beach Boys, The Bee Gees, Stevie Wonder, Johnny O’Keefe and more, these are tracks that defined a generation. The 60 Four was founded in 2015 by school mates Ben Francis, Lachlan Williams, Kyle Charles Hall and then-bass Tom Russel, who found themselves singing ’60s music in a high-school class taught by Australian cabaret performer Michael Griffiths. In 2016, The 60 Four produced their first public show at an intimate 40-seat venue. They now regularly sell out performance seasons, with over 2000 tickets.
