WHITTLESEA: 135-kmh in Lalor school zone
A learner motorcycle rider has some explaining to do after allegedly being caught at 135-kmh in a 40-kmh school zone outside a school in Lalor.
Members from Fawkner Highway Patrol and Mernda Uniform were working Operation Overwatch when they spotted the CF MOTO travelling along Dalton Rd just before 4pm on Friday (June 26).
The vehicle was detected at an alleged speed of 135-kmh in the 40-kmh zone.
Officers intercepted the motorcycle and spoke with the rider who produced a learner permit which he had only held for two months.
The 20-year-old South Morang man is expected to be charged on summons with exceeding the speed limit by 45-kmh or more.
He was forced to walk home after the motorbike, was impounded for a period of 30 days at a cost of $999.52
