OBSERVER: Tales by the Brothers Grimm
Shake and Stir Theatre Company presents Grimm, Tales from the Brothers Grimm, from August 25 to September 12 at the Fairfax Studio, Arts Centre Mel-bourne.
Audiences are invited into a world where fairy tales are reimagined with “profound intensity and irreverent glee”. But there is a warning that these bedtime stories might cause nightmares.
Within the walls of an abandoned drinking house in the deep dark forest, Cinderella, Little Red Riding Hood and many others emerge from the thicket to share the truth behind their stories – warts and all.
Consequently, surprises and never-before-told truths boil and bubble seductively to the surface …
This bold adaptation of tales from the Brothers Grimm is adapted by Nelle Lee, directed by Daniel Evans with costumes designed by Paul McCann.
Bedtime stories will never be the same again.
Performance Season: August 25 – September 12
