MURRINDINDI: Woman dead in Glenburn bus accident
Detectives are investigating after a woman died and multiple people were injured following a multi-vehicle collision in Glenburn on Thursday afternoon (Sep. 24).
It is understood a bus collided with a white car and blue Toyota on the Melba Hwy near Two Hills Rd about 2.40pm.
The driver of the white car died at the scene.
Multiple occupants of the bus were injured including:
- A teenage boy was airlifted to hospital with serious injuries
- A man in his 50’s was transported to hospital with serious injuries
- A teenage girl was transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries
A teenage boy was transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries
The driver and passenger of the Toyota sustained minor injuries.
It is believed there were 18 people inside the bus, including the driver.
An investigation into the incident is ongoing and Major Collision Investigation Unit detectives are attending the scene.
An Ambulance Victoria representative said paramedics assessed 21 patients at the scene.
It is understood that two bus passengers were ejected from the bus during the crash.
Charter company Mee’s confirmed the bus involved left Mansfield at about 1pm bound for Melbourne.
