OBSERVER: Circus The Show

Circus the Show is a terrific, fun filled hour of entertainment. As well as amazing acts what set this show apart is the storytelling.
This circus show is not just awe inspiring acts it is full of heart. The Ringmaster, played eloquently by Jack Wilde shares stories with the audience with passion, sincerity, humour, tying everything together to create a full theatre experience rather than a series of isolated ‘acts’.
As well as being the Ringmaster Wilde did his own balancing/ juggling routine, again setting this show apart from other circus’s where the ringmaster is usually only the MC.
All three ’guest’ performers were talented artists. Riki Morgan wowed us with hula hoops, Juggler Richard Sullivan, Aerialist Amy May are all seasoned performers, whilst only short their acts were polished, engaging throughout. These artists perform worldwide, it was a privilege to see them up close.
The highlight of the show was ‘Clown’. George Le Couteur was fabulous in this role. Even before the official show began the audience was entertained as he interacted in silence.
Clown remained a constant character throughout assisting with the props/equipment, providing much visual humour. With the traditional large clown feet, plus red nose he was recognisable immediately.
His ‘slapstick play was beautifully timed, his rapport with Ringmaster evident. Clown’s balloon act was a perfect finale having everyone in laughter with this unique comedy /physical routine.
The Spiegeltent at Speiegel Haus was a perfect venue for this world class circus show. My guest summed the show up in one word- ‘fabulous’, this I would have to agree.
