A Shock Squad has been formed to enhance the Automated External Defibrillator Network across Mansfield Shire.
The newly formed squad comprises representatives from Mansfield Shire Council, Mansfield and District Community Bank, Mansfield District Hospital and Ambulance Victoria (Mansfield Branch).
Collectively they are advocating to create a wider network of devices that are accessible 24/7 to the community.
An Automated External Defibrillator is used to help those experiencing sudden cardiac arrest. It’s a sophisticated yet easy-to-use medical device that can analyse the heart’s rhythm and deliver an electrical shock to help the heart re-establish an effective rhythm.
