MELBOURNE: Cemetery damage at Parkville

Melbourne Divisional Response Unit officers have charged two teenagers after alleged criminal damage at a cemetery in Parkville on July 5.
The pair allegedly crashed through the gates of a cemetery with an excavator on College Crescent about 7pm.
Both teens then allegedly fled on foot.
The damage to the heritage-listed gates is estimated to be in excess of $130,000.
A 14-year-old from Princes Hill has been charged with:
• 2 x theft of a motor vehicle
• criminal damage
• commit an indictable offence while on bail.
A 16-year-old from Carlton has been charged with:
• theft of a motor vehicle
• criminal damage
• 2 x commit an indictable offence while on bail
• possess an imitation firearm
Both teenagers will appear at a children’s court at a later date.
