COURT: Seymour Magistrates’ Court
Hearing that his 9am Kilmore Hospital urgent care appointment had been cancelled, Broadford man Ryan Wood verbally abused the receptionist and created a hole in the wall near the exit door, Seymour Court was told last Thursday (Jul. 17).
Mr Wood, 35, of High St, Broadford, did not appear at Court to face a change of wilful damage.
CCTV footage captured Mr Wood’s actions, with him reported to have made full admissions to Police, saying that he hit the exit button too hard, and pushed it through the wall.
Prior criminal convictions were alleged by Police.
Mr Wood was convicted and fined $1200, and ordered to pay $526.69 compensation.
Back on the road
Melissa Joyce Pitts was successful in her application to Seymour Court to regain her driver’s licence after losing it for six months.
Ms Pitts admitted using marijuana prior to being intercepted by Police.
Breach of Court order
Flowerdale plumber Jack Hamment, 24, insisted on representing himself, contrary to a Magistrate’s suggestion, at a Seymour Court appearance last Thursday (July 17).
Mr Hamment said he wanted to plead guilty to breach of a community corrections order.
Mr Hamment said that travel from his Riverside Cres address to Seymour had been beyond his capability.
Asked why he had not contacted authorities by phone to report his non-attendance, Mr Hamment said he believed that his mobile phone had been on.
“I find that hard to accept,” said the Magistrate.
Mr Hamment may soon be facing a charge of burglary, Police suggested.
He is due to appear in Court on August 28, with a recommendation by the Magistrate that he speak with Legal Aid.
Caught on footy trip
The intention of Olivia Jennings was to give a lift to her sister’s boyfriend so he could attend football training at the Nagambie Recreation Reserve.
However, local Police noticed her black Ford ute on Vickers Rd was bearing a forged registration label and cancelled plates.
It was also discovered she had been driving whilst disqualified. She had admitted a prior conviction for driving whilst exceeding the prescribed concentration of alcohol.
Ms Jennings explained that she had bought the vehicle three days previously, and had no idea about the fraudulent plates. She apologised to Nagambie Police.
She was placed on a 12-month good behaviour bond, and ordered to pay $300 into the Court fund.

Andrew Hore, in custody, appeared at Seymour Court last week via video link from a detention centre.
He is due to re-appear on Thursday (July 24).
Stopped drug use
It has been three years since Nathan Jarrad Lesay has used drugs, Seymour Court was told last Thursday (July 17).
Mr Lesay was successful in his application to regain his driver’s licence, which he had been without for two years.
A previous case had seen him spend time in custody.
He now had a daughter and son, and that had “snapped him out” of the drug use.
Matter adjourned
Nick O’Toole, also known as Nick Binks-Brown, has had a Seymour Court matter adjourned until August 14.
The Court was told that he is disabled, and had been in the care of ARC at Shepp-arton.
Warrant issued
A warrant was last Thursday (July 17) issued against Barry Peter Chee, who failed to appear at Seymour Court. Bail was forfeited.
Licence suspended
Bianca Harvey did not appear at Seymour Court last Thursday (July 17) to face a charge of driving whilst her licence was suspended.
Police said Ms Harvey, 32, was intercepted whilst she drove a silver Toyota Corolla on Dry Creek Rd, Kilmore East.
She had been disaqualified from driving because of mutilple traffic offences.
She was convicted and fined $500.
Theft charge contest
A theft charge against Kathryn Fleming will be contested, with a further mention listed for Seymour Court on September 4.
Bail unopposed
Returning from a stint at Odyssey House, Jayden Wright’s application for bail was unopposed by Police, at Seymour Court on Thursday (July 17).
He must live at his mother Kristy Fowler’s address at Link Ave, Kilmore, not to leave the premises between 10pm-5am unless in her company.
He is not to contact witnesses, not to drive a motor cehicle, not to consume alcohol, and not to use drugs of dependance.
Returning to Court
Brendan Scicluna was due to re-appear at Seymour Court on Monday (July 21) before Magistrate Olivia Trumble as this issue of The Local Paper went to press.
Mr Scicluna had last Thursday (July 17) applied to have his bail varied.
He had been a resident at ‘The Cottage’, Shepparton, and had been on an opioid relacement treatment. He had self-exited the program.
Matters withdrawn
All charges against Nando Rizzo were withdrawn at Seymour Court last Thursday (July 17). The matters were noted as “struck out”.
Burglary, theft charges
Lachlan Nally, accused of burglary and theft, has been given permission to appear remotely at Seymour Court on August 14 for a further contest mention. He has bail whilst he is a patient at Windana rehabiltation centre.
