Detectives from the Illicit Firearms Squad have charged a man and seized a loaded slam gun, a stolen BMW sedan, a shotgun barrel and a firearm silencer in Hampton Park.

The investigation commenced after police received information the man had firearms.

A warrant was executed at a residential property in Hampton Park on Wednewsday morning, January 10.

During the search, Police located a loaded slam gun, a dismantled stolen BMW sedan, a shotgun barrel, a firearm silencer and quantities of various types of ammunition.

A 27-year-old Hampton Park man was charged with prohibited person possess firearm, prohibited person possess silencer and possess ammunition.

He was bailed to appear at Dandenong Magistrates’ Court on May 17.
