NORTH-WEST: Woman tries to evade Police
Police have charged a woman after she allegedly attempted to avoid police in Melbourne’s north-western suburbs on Wednesday (July 16).
A grey Toyota Hilux was allegedly seen speeding near the intersection of Mount Alexander and Maribyrnong Rds in Ascot Vale about 3.35am.
Police attempted to intercept the car but the driver sped off.
The Air Wing was called in and followed the vehicle from overhead as it was driven through several suburbs before being dumped in Egginton St, Brunswick West.
The driver fled the scene on foot.
A 45-year-old Gladstone Park woman was arrested a short time later.
She was interviewed and charged with drive manner dangerous, drive speed dangerous, theft of motor vehicle, posses drug of dependence, traffic drug of dependence and other offences.
She was to appear before court on Wednesday (July 16).
