FRANKSTON: 3D printed firearm found
Frankston Crime Investigation Unit detectives have charged two people after a car was allegedly stolen and a 3D printed firearm was located in Frankston on Tuesday morning (Aug. 5).
It is understood three people were loitering in a car park near a grey Hyundai i30 with allegedly cloned plates about 1.15am.
Officers were told they got into a white Renault Koleos and drove along the Nepean Hwy.
Police located the Koleos a short time later parked outside a hotel.
A man and a woman got back into the vehicle before Operation Trinity officers intercepted it.
The Koleos was searched and the keys to the Hyundai i30 were said to be found inside.
The two occupants were arrested at the scene.
Police then searched a hotel room and allegedly located a 3D printed firearm, methamphetamine, 1-4-butanediol and MDMA.
Another man was arrested.
The 33-year-old Safety Beach man was charged with prohibited person possess firearm, person subject to firearm prohibition order possess firearm, traffick a drug of dependence, theft of a motor vehicle and possess controlled weapon.
He was to appear at Frankston Magistrates’ Court.
The 22-year-old Frankston man was charged with prohibited person possess firearm, traffick a drug of dependence, theft of a motor vehicle, deal property proceeds of crime and contravene conduct condition of bail.
He was to appear at Frankston Magistrates’ Court.
The 25-year-old Frankston woman was released pending enquiries.
