MELBOURNE: Crumbs, driver rolled
A drive through the city for a Melbourne man proved costly when he was caught watching a video about ‘how to make bread dough’.
Public Order Response Unit members were patrolling the CBD when they spotted the motorist in Lonsdale St about 9.15pm.
The driver, a Malaysian national – who it was discovered had been driving in Victoria unlicensed for the last six years – was seen watching his phone displaying a video about how to make bread dough.
The 31-year-old was issued a penalty notice for unlicensed driving at a cost of $1018 and a penalty notice for driving while looking at a portable display device at a cost of $611 and four demerit points.
