MARIBYRNONG: Appeal for Braybrook witnesses


Police are seeking assistance from the public with an investigation into the theft of a car in Braybrook.
It is understood on July 26, a 19-year-old Melton West woman was sitting in the passenger seat of a car at an industrial address on Chewton St, Braybrook about 6.30am.
An unknown man has placed himself in the driver’s seat before driving off with the victim still inside.
Officers were told the car travelled along Chewton St, Evans St and Ballarat Rd towards Sunshine.
Police were told the victim attempted to jump out of the car along Ballarat Rd whilst being driven erratically but was unsuccessful.
The car then slowed down along Hampshire Rd, where the victim has managed to jump out.
The woman was not physically injured.
Police recovered the car outside a residential address on Elphinstone St, Footscray West on July 28.
Investigators have released video footage and an image of the man they believed may be able to assist with their enquiries.
He is described as Caucasian in appearance, in his early 20s with a short buzz cut wearing a blue and maroon hoodie at the time of incident.
