A 19-year-old man will have his car impounded after he was allegedly caught travelling more than double the speed limit in Panton Hill on Sunday, November 19.

The black Ford Falcon was allegedly clocked at 126-kmh in a 60-kmh zone on the Kangaroo Ground-St Andrews Rd about 12.45pm.

Greensborough Highway Patrol officers intercepted the vehicle shortly afterwards.

He is expected to be charged on summons at a later date.

Police would like to speak to any witnesses, particularly a cyclist who was in the area at the time.
