MORNINGTON PENINSULA: 4 charged over local thefts
Mornington Peninsula Crime Investigation Unit detectives have charged four further offenders over a series of alleged theft offences in the greater Mornington Peninsula area.
Detectives have been thoroughly investigating the string of theft of motor vehicles, burglaries and theft from motor vehicles that occurred in Mount Eliza, Mornington, Mount Martha, Bittern and Somers areas between August 8-14.
A 30-year-old Hast-ings man was charged with 29 offences, including charges related to engaging children to commit criminal activity after a search warrant was executed at his residence on Monday, August 18.
Further searches were conducted on Wednesday, August 27 resulting in the latest arrests.
A 35-year-old Hast-ings woman has subsequently been charged with 21 offences including three counts of recruiting a child to engage in criminal activity, two counts of supply drug of dependence to a child and six counts of handle stolen goods.
She was remanded and was to face Frankston Magistrates Court.
A 20-year-old Hast-ings man has been charged with 17 offences including five counts of theft of motor vehicle.
He was bailed and will face Frankston Magistrates’ Court on September 18.
A 14-year-old boy was charged with 25 offences including four counts of theft of motor vehicle and 10 counts of theft from moto vehicle.
A 16-year-old boy was charged with 22 offences including four counts of theft of motor vehicle and eight counts of theft from motor vehicle.
The teenagers were bailed will face a Children’s court at a later date.
Meanwhile a 27-year-old Hastings man was arrested over an outstanding warrant.
The 30-year-old man originally charged over the series of incidents remains remanded and will was to face Frankston Magistrates’ Court on September 4.
