KNOX: Rowville MP calls it a day


Rowville MLA Kim Wells will not contest the next State Election in November 2026.
“After discussions with family, good mates, friends, branch members and supporters, I have decided not to contest the next election,” Mr Wells announced on social media.
“To the residents of Wantirna, Scoresby and Rowville electroates, thank you for your inc redible support for over 33 years – this is something I will always cherish.
“I will miss my connection with the community the most.
“Thank you, finally, to my incredibly hard-working and loyal staff, past and present, that have stood by me throughout the highs and lows; to you I say a massive thank you, and our friendships will continue.”
Mr Wells was the Treasurer of Victoria from December 2010 until March 2013. Wells was born in Leongatha, and attended public schools in Bairnsdale, graduating in 1976.
