FRANKSTON: $1.7m support package
Two new initiatives designed to ease cost of living pressures are part of Frankston Council’s $1.7m local support package.
The Active Participation Subsidy Program and Ratepayer Rewards initiative, together worth more than $250,000, are designed to reduce cost-of-living pressures while strengthening community connection, health and wellbeing.
The Council has invested $137,000 into a new subsidy program to reduce financial barriers that has precviously prevented residents from joining local clubs, groups and community activities. Eligible residents can have 85 per cent of their annual membership fee (up to $500) paid directly to their club or group.
The Council has introduced $117,000 worth of Ratepayer Rewards to provide direct benefits to households while encouraging use of local services and venues.
Deputy Mayor Cr Steffie Conroy (pictured) said both initiatives reflect the Council’s commitment to affordability and inclusion.
“We know cost-of-living pressures are being felt by many in our community. By introducing these initiatives, we’re reducing barriers and creating more opportunities for residents to stay active, connected and involved.
“We want to make sure everyone in Frankston has access to the experiences that make our city vibrant and welcoming.”
