MORNINGTON PENINSULA: Award for road safety
Mornington Peninsula Shire Council has been named winner of the 2025 Excellence in Road Safety Award from the Australasia College of Road Safety.
The College recognises exceptional leadership, research and innovation in road safety, highlighting individuals and organisations committed to reducing road trauma across Australasia.
“This prestigious Australasian award was for the Shire’s innovative work on rural compact roundabouts – projects that deliver life-saving infrastructure at a fraction of the traditional cost,” said a Mornington Peninsula Council representative.
Mayor Cr Anthony Marsh (pictured) said:”This initiative makes crucial road safety solutions more accessible for rural communities such as ours.
“Council is committed to reducing road trauma and death on our roads, with the ultimate vision being that all journeys are safe and feel safe for all road users.
“This award is a testament to the Shire’s evidence-based approach and dedication to road safety innovation. A huge congratulations to our Traffic and Transport Team.”
