MONASH: Clocked at 153-kmh at Mount Waverley

A motorcyclist just two months into his learner permit has had his bike impounded after being clocked more than 50-kmh over the speed limit in Mount Waverley.
Officers from the Transit Safety Division were travelling along the Monash Fwy when they spotted the motorcycle travelling at excessive speed.
The Yamaha YZF-R7 was allegedly detected travelling at 153-kmh in the 100-kmh zone.
The rider was intercepted, allegedly making admissions that he thought it was safe due to the amount of traffic at the time.
The 20-year-old Mount Waverley man had his licence suspended for a period of 12 months and is expected to be charged on summons.
His motorcycle was impounded for a period of 30 days at a cost of $1014.
