MURRINDINDI: Permits needed for vans

Murrindindi Shire Council has warned property owners of the importance of obtaining the necessary permits before operating a caravan or camping area.
All commercially operated camping areas, including those advertised on websites or apps, require permits.
“Property owners are responsible for any incidents that occur on their property, and having the right permits in place helps ensure safety for everyone,” said a Council representative.
Murrindindi Mayor Cr Damien Gallagher said: “With the upcoming Labour Day and Easter public holidays, we want both visitors and our community to stay safe.
“Our region offers stunning camping locations, but if you are operating a camping area, it is important to have all the necessary permits. “These regulations are in place to prevent issues and to keep Murrindindi Shire pleasant and safe for everyone,” Cr Gallagher said.
“If you are hosting a private party or camping on your own property, please be considerate of your neighbours, and ensure you comply with government regulations and local laws.
“Residents must follow Environment Protection Authority guidelines regarding noise levels. Loud events can cause disturbances, and in some cases, police may be called.”
