CASEY: 6 charged over Cranbourne East car thefts
Casey Crime Investigation Unit detectives have charged six people after two allegedly stolen cars were located in Cranbourne East on Friday morning (May 22).
The youths and the alleged stolen cars, a Mercedes hatchback and a Mazda 3 wagon, were spotted by patrolling police on Cortula Rd about 2.10pm.
A 19-year-old Cranbourne East man was arrested nearby.
The remaining five allegedly fled in the Mazda which came to a final stop on Ferntree Gully Rd, after a deflation device was successfully deployed.
Four teens were swiftly arrested.
Police will allege both vehicles were stolen during an aggravated burglary at a Stark Circuit address in Cranbourne East about 1.15am.
The 19-year-old Cranbourne East man was charged with theft of motor vehicle, commit indictable offence whilst on bail, contravene a condition of bail and stating a false name to police.
He was to appear at Dandenong Magistrates’ Court.
A 19-year-old Collingwood woman was charged with theft of motor vehicle and commit indictable offence whilst on bail.
She was bailed to appear at Dandenong Magistrates’ Court on September 8.
An 18-year-old Collingwood woman was charged with theft of motor vehicle, commit indictable offence whilst on bail and fail to answer bail.
She was bailed to appear at Dandenong Magistrates Court on September 8.
An 18-year-old Cranbourne East man was charged with theft of motor vehicle and commit an indictable offence while on bail.
He was bailed to appear at Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on September 8.
An 18-year-old Glen Waverley man was charged with theft of motor vehicle and commit indictable offence whilst on bail. He was to appear at Melboune Magistrates’ Court.
A 16-year-old from the Casey area was charged with theft of motor vehicle.
He was to appear at Dandenong Children’s Court on Friday (May 22).
