CASEY: Death at Narre Warren


A man has died in hospital following an assault in Narre Warren South.
Emergency services were called to reports of a man being assaulted at Strathaird Reserve about 3.15pm on Friday, June 12.
A 63-year-old Clyde North man was transported to hospital with critical injuries, where he died on Thursday (June 18).
Two men, a 21-year-old man of no fixed place of address and a 22-year-old Narre Warren South man were charged with recklessly cause serious injury. Both men were in custody.
Detectives from the Homicide Squad have assumed primacy of the investigation and will consider alternate charges following the results of a postmortem.
Police believe the parties involved were known to each other. The investigation remains ongoing.
