WHITTLESEA: Tiwari voted onto Council


Chaman Toiwari, whose pre-election literature described herself as “Proudly Labor”, has won the Thomastown Ward seat on Whittlesea City Council.
The Victorian Electoral Commission formally declared the result of the by-election for the ard.
Cr Tiwari has been elected as Councillor for the remainder of the current Council term.
This by-election was held following the resignation of Nic Brooks as the Thomastown Ward Councillor in January.
“On behalf of the City of Whittlesea, we congratulate Ms Tiwari on her election and look forward to working with her in her new role,” said a Council representative.
“Ms Tiwari is currently overseas and will officially be sworn in as a Councillor on Friday, \July 3, and will participate in the extensive Council induction program over the coming months. We warmly welcome Ms Tiwari to the City of Whittlesea and look forward to her contributions to our community.”
