WYNDHAM: Factory fire at Laverton North


Fire Rescue Victoria responded to an incident on Boundary Road, Laverton North, after callers to Triple Zero (000) at 1.15am Friday (June 26) reported a factory fire.
Firefighters arrived on scene within six minutes to find a 20m x 10m concrete tilt slab factory with tin roof fully involved in fire.
FRV crews wearing breathing apparatus established hose lines and began attacking the blaze, preventing any fire spread to adjoining properties. The blaze was contained to the structure of origin. No people were present at time of fire.
An advice message was issued for heavy smoke in area.
The incident was brought under control at 1.51am, deemed suspicious and was to be left with Victoria Police to investigate.
Firefighters were to remain on scene for some time to ensure the fire was fully extinguished.
Victoria Police and Ambulance Victoria assisted FRV with operations.
The power, gas and water companies attended to isolate services.
A Municipal Building Surveyor was requested to attend.
