MONASH: Garage fire at Clayton South
Fire Rescue Victoria firefighters arrived on scene within four minutes of receiving a Triple Zero (000) call for a garage fire at Clarevale St at Clayton South at 1.39pm on Thursday (Jan. 16).
Additional fire trucks were despatched, while on scene firefighters entered a smoke-filled home and assisted a male and female, both in their nineties, to safety.
A 40-year-old male was also suffering smoke inhalation and superficial burns.
All three patients were treated by FRV firefighters for smoke inhalation until the arrival of paramedics, who then transported the 40-year-old to hospital.
A Community Advice was issued for smoke in the area.
The fire was under control in 30 minutes.
Extensive fire damage occurred to 8x4m garage.
The fire was started by unattended cooking.
