NORTHERN GRAMPIANS: Drug trafficking charges after intercept


Northern Grampians Crime Investigation Unit detectives have charged a man after locating what is alleged to be a traffickable quantity of methylamphetamine worth $4.5M in Stawell.

Officers from Stawell police intercepted a Honda HRV on Horsham Rd about 2.20am on Tuesday, February 11.

They conducted a search of the car and located two phones, cash, and what is alleged to be methylamphetamine.

The driver, a 20-year-old Keilor Downs man, was arrested at the scene.

He was charged by detectives with traffick large commercial quantity of methylamphetamine and was remanded in custody to appear before the Horsham Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, February 12.
