Former Murrindindi Shire Council Chief Executive Officer Margaret Abbey has been farewelled by the municipality.

“A lovely evening was held to acknowledge Margaret Abbey’s retirement from her role as Chief Executive Officer at the Murrin-dindi Shire Council,” said Mayor Cr Charlie Bisset.

“This evening was also about acknowledging Margaret’s 34½ year service to local government and several firsts, Margaret being the first female planner in some councils.

“I would like to thank Margaret for her unwavering commitment to our shire and wish her well with her retirement and future plans,” Cr Bisset said.

Ms Abbey is President of the International Bobbin and Needle Lace Guild, OIDFA (L’Organ-isation Internationale de la Dentelle au Fuseau et à l’Aiguille).
